I just noticed something that may help explain some of the REALLY BADLY filed saws we run across.
Check out page 53,
the Climax saw.
M tooth, M tooth, Cleaner, M tooth, M tooth, Cleaner...
With the side-cutting "cleaner" tooth needing to be shorter than the M teeth rakers
That'd certainly get most other style Crosscuts out of joint in a hurry
