1-Man bucking saw

Post by NEALogger » July 16th, 2017, 3:09 pm

Are there any other manufacturers besides Simonds that used to make a good 1-man crescent tapered bucking saw ? As far as I can tell, only Simonds made those? And what are the pro/cons of a "stock" Simonds saw vs 1-man saw made up of a good 2-man crescent ground saw like below?:

The big three saw manufactures all made taper ground one man saws but generally not as stiff or with as much taper as quality two man saws. Disston, Atkins and Simonds are the most common manufactures but there were several others.

For a user one man saw a cut off quality two man saw is hard to beat.
