Mine saw ID

Post by sandersdwa » November 2nd, 2019, 11:40 am

A friend has a 2 man mine saw with an etch I have not seen before. Was hoping somebody will have some information that could help with identification of this saw?

I have not see this logo on a saw but I do have a stainless steel Simonds 222 saw that indicates it has a Mine Temper. I believe it is softer then normal saws to reduce chance of a spark in a potentially explosive underground environment.

I see other Disston Keystone docking saws with this etch graphic in the catalogs. I think this 2 man crosscut is an older Disston Plain that got the Keystone etch for Miner's use?
