4 Footer,good taper ground, good steel,

Nice saw. I wounder if the broken raker was intentional. Maybe someone did that to get more starter teeth in the end on the saw.

I don't know about welding a new raker on. With it broken off right down to the body of the saw there will be an adverse effect caused by welding in the body of the saw. The hardness, temper and tension in the body of the will be effected by welding. I have no problem welding on tips of teeth because it does net effect the body of the saw or even major cracks or breaks in the body because they are junkers anyway. For a good user saw it may be best to leave it as it is.
