I don't know if anybody else here is into Roy Underhills tv show, but thought this would be of interest here

It's not groundbreaking, but looked like a fairly good introduction to the tool. Just a little suprising that he was using rusty saws that probably could have been set up better.

Interesting. 821 different styles of saw teeth.

Yes, looks to me like his saws could be cleaned. I guess some are concerned about removing the patina and some of the history from old tools.

Roy gave the 60 second filing class. He got his point across and his examples, particularly the dado using a knife and chisel was a good visual. He held the chisel at a low angle, positioned the way a swaged raker would peel out curly noodles. It would've been a neat segway to swaged rakers, but he gave that technique short mention.
