What's your handle treatment?

Post by frizzen » January 1st, 2022, 10:55 pm

For your Axes and other wooden tool handles, what's your preferred handle treatment and why?

I know these are usually the big ones getting talked about:
Boiled Linseed Oil
Bees wax
Pine Tar (hard type for horse / sailing stuff, not baseball sticky)
A 'Secret' recipe passed down through time
Fiberglass or Composite handles (ugh, sorry...)

Also, what kind of process, rigmarole, magic ceremony, or system do you like to follow for application?
Let's go cut some happy little trees over here. Then we'll plant two, because everybody needs a friend.
