Re: Which Saw for me

It's good to see that you're getting plenty of exercise Jim! Nice job! Finding a log lying like that without being in a bind of some kind is pretty rare! We have about a half dozen over 3 ft. - that we know about - out of Kalama H.C. Power saws are allowed there, but with the high fire danger, we wi...

Re: Which Saw for me

Welcome to Crosscut Sawyer! Several things I consider when working on clearing a trail... What is the largest tree that you are likely to encounter is first... Two man saws are generally my first choice, either a 5 1/2' felling saw, or my favorite 5' Simonds 520 bucking saw. A 4' one man saw, with ...

Re: wooden crate or box for saw transportation.

I can not find a picture on the site now, but member "underbucker" had one that I'm sure he made...... maybe 7 or 8 years ago!
I was handy because you didn't have to unload items packed on top of the box remove a saw.

Re: West Coast Crosscut Saw Filers Social

Welcome to the forum NETCOYOTE!
Yes, the West Coast Crosscut Saw Filers Social happened!
There were about 30 filers in attendance, from at least 4 states. I hope that another similar event might be held in the future!

Another nice find!
Your one man saw looks like the Disston No. 1 Extra Champion in the 1919 catalog?
(the 1919 catalog is the undated one in the list of Vintage Catalogs, Disston)
