Re: Ohlen Bishop 388

I know this is an old post on the 388, but I picked up the identical saw. There almost no information on #388 60".

My etch is 80%+ and the rest of the saw will clean up very well. Unfilled.

The #388 is crescent ground.

Re: 66" Simonds #133 Value?

The saw is for sale local. Over all the saw is on great shape and has never been used. If I were to purchase the saw there is a good chance I would use it for work.

Thanks

Re: 66" Simonds #133 Value?

Wow~ that is quite a range! The starting price was over $300 and to me seemed high.

If this saw changes ownership I will get some pics posted.

Thanks Jim for the info!

66" Simonds #133 Value?

Hey Folks~ I was hoping for a little insight to the Value of a 66" Simonds #133 Untouched. I can not see the model number but everything matches up with the #133 The saw no longer has its shinny surface, but it does not look rusted. Just black now and everything elst is the way it should be. I can s...

Re: Unknown Simonds Model NO. 324?. 6' Bucking Lance Tooth

Thanks for putting some ideas out there. I was not able to see the Model No. etch. The rest of the etch I can see from what I understand is the older decretive etch with all the cities in the lower arch and where the "crescent ground" words are also tapered on both ends. The numbers seem to match up...

Re: Unknown Simonds Model. 6' Bucking Lance Tooth

Thanks for the Reply David's Crosscuts. I double checked the etch I can see and it is 100% a Simonds. So I looked again at the gullets of the teeth and you are right they were gummed. I overlooked it because the teeth seemed to be plenty long. I will have to double check the gauges measurements. I c...

Unknown Simonds Model NO. 324?. 6' Bucking Perf. Lance Tooth

6' simonds lance_ bucking.JPG I was looking for saws local and found this one in a corner at an antique shop. I knew when I bought this saw it was going to take some work to clean it up and probably a little further gone than I wanted. I assumed it was a Simonds and when I started cleaning it I cou...
