wooden crate or box for saw transportation.

I have seen somewhere on this forum images and comment for a wooden crate or box for saw transportation. It had an opening at one end so you did not have to lift off the lid to get at the saws inside.

Can anyone give me its link? or a link to some similar design elsewhere?

What fleam angle do you file at? What slope angle? 20200817_172025.jpg Here is my current set up with a vise sloping at 45° and only 5° fleam. And it works just fine. I hold file horizontal i.e. parallel to ground and parallel with the lines on fleam board. 20200817_144243.jpg I had been filing at 1...

Re: pls comment on this Great American filing system

I have now filed lots of the Great American. My experience is here: https://www.shedtherapy.com/create-tooth-geometry-on-great-american-saw/ Whilst GA saws cut at half the speed of a well-tuned raker saw they are much less than half the effort to maintain. If you run a raker through dirty wood you c...

Re: DIY rip saw #3

Sumnergeo writes: I have been "ripping" a number of pecan logs and my procedure is to cut an inch or so into the butt with a 3-ft crosscut then split with wedges then draw knife and plane to get planks. Re: DIY rip saw #3

By straight teeth I meant - and apologise I was not clear - that the tooth line is straight. This has a curved tooth line which I now know is less effective at ripping than a straight one.
