Re: Diston And Sons D 110 Special

Hi ya,

if you look up the international tool catalogue web site they have hundreds of old tool catalogues including Disston that you can then find info about your saws.

Re: Pumice saw cleaning grades?

Hi Fizzen, I was lucky a few years ago, while on a visit to north Queensland Aust. I was walking on a beach after a cyclone had come through a few weeks earlier. It had washed up thousands of pieces of white pumice, presumably from New Zealand. Because I was flying home and could only pick up a shop...

Re: pls comment on this Great American filing system

Hi Gavin, the date on your first post is back in July 2013, how did you go with your filling of the GA tooth pattern saw?? They are rather complex, with a lot of different angles to take care with. I have quite a few saws with this tooth pattern, most of them unused or with original factory filling....

Re: Diston Raker Gauge Question

Hello,

an eccentric (raker) gage pin with many sided head, is the description given in the patent papers.

If you go to the Directory of American Tool And Machinery Patents web page,
datamp.org and type in the date it will come up with patents filed on that date.

Hope this helps.

west Australian timber getting

Hi all,

there are many you tube videos out there showing American logging,
which are all very interesting.

I've come across one showing Australian logging,
type in:- timber getting in western Australia,
it runs for about 23 mins.

hope you enjoy it as I have.

Re: is this pitsaw worth buying?

Hi all, With regard to pitting on saw blades, if it is on the sides it may mar the appearance and may cause the saw to drag somewhat in the kerf which would be minimal to performance. When the pitting is at the tooth line, where all the different angled surfaces are and depending upon how sever it i...

Re: is this pitsaw worth buying?

Hello Gavin, I've been lucky to come across two pit saws here in sth. Aust. both for about $40 which was a steal in both cases, only one had the tiller handle though. They are a very rare type of saw to come across compared to all the cross cut saws that are every where. Both of my saws have seen a ...
