for those, i did go to his "Celebration of Life" at the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad. Dolly Chapman and Mike Nolan were there too.

about Rigging classes, we had a class canceled do to the district Ranger not allowing it. had the class done earlier in the week by the same instructor. now i just read about a new Rigging class at Ninemile.

John was doing Rigging. something he loved to do. some how the log came loose and he was on the bottom. that is what i heard. now because of that accident is has been hard to have rigging classes for Volunteers. especially for Crosscut Sawyers needing to have rigging done to do safe log cutting.

i wonder if he did a sound test on the bottom of that tree. i think he would have noticed that it was rotten.

I think we learned from the fire in Yellowstone National Park a few years ago. clearing so others may grow is good. so cutting good trees so that others can grow makes for a great full forest,

in all my classes that i teach i teach that there are always more than one bind in a fallen tree or log. i was taught by Mike Nolan to always walk the whole length of the tree to try to see all of the binds in the tree. even still i always watch the kerf to see if it starts to open or close, or clos...
