Is this saw cutting well

Postby dayle1960 » August 5th, 2017, 3:03 am

Mr. Chickadee (Josh) has a YouTube website and is using manual tools to build a house in the hills of Tennessee. The video I'm highlighting shows Josh using a one man bucking saw to cut a scarf joint into sill plate. The part I want you fellows to watch starts at the 2:00 minute mark. I cannot tell if the saw is producing dust or curls. The saw looks well maintained yet I'm not certain it's working properly.

What say ya'll.

The saw seems to cut well in single buck mode and is throwing small chips. It has straight rakers which are more likely to break up noodles. I don't think he was going for speed on those joints, he wanted accuracy.
