Rust, rust, rust

Postby dayle1960 » July 31st, 2017, 4:07 pm

Drats, I went out to the work shop and was looking at a two man saw I've had laying on my workbench and I noticed the beginning signs of rust. I know that a year or two ago I had cleaned the surface with pumice stones and other things to make it shine. I cannot remember if I put anything on the finished saw to keep the rust away. So now I'll have to spend a couple of hours and buff the rust off. On my hand saws which I rehab I use white beeswax to keep the blades from rusting over a long period of time.

What do you guys use to keep the rust off of your saws?

I use Johnson's Paste Wax. Never had anything rust with it on and tools are clean to handle. I suppose most any wax would work.
