Great video! I learned alot the first time I watched it and learn more every time.
He shows the trick for driving a fat wood pine wedge and I learned it from this film.

I am making another handle, I snapped one off while driving wood wedges and pounding a hung up tree off a stump, I should have used a come along. The axe handle break started at a pin onot in the squirrelly grain area by the bent part.

I hope I don't find knot clusters inside the green ash aka red ash, billet I am shaping. The ash should be stronger than the birch, though.

Finished new handle of red ash with a pine tar BLO finsh.
Plus a new broadaxe handle of red ash from a crooked tree.
